Immergas CAR V2 3.021395 is a weekly programmable modulating boiler controller with considerably more functionality than a basic ON/OFF room thermostat. In addition to measuring room temperature, it exchanges operating data with the control electronics of a compatible Immergas boiler. The user can therefore manage the operating mode, room temperature, central-heating flow setting and domestic hot-water parameters supported by the system without accessing the boiler itself.In modulating operation, CAR V2 does more than switch a heating request on and off. It helps the boiler adjust its operation according to the difference between the measured room temperature and the selected setpoint. When a compatible outdoor sensor is installed, the system can also support weather-compensated temperature regulation. This method can provide steadier indoor comfort and help reduce unnecessary boiler cycling.CAR V2 allows Comfort and Economy temperature levels to be scheduled for the days of the week and supports automatic and manual operation as well as summer and winter modes. It also includes a holiday programme, adjustable room frost-protection level, service information and display of fault codes received from the boiler. The anti-legionella function is available only on compatible boiler configurations equipped with a domestic hot-water storage tank.The large backlit display makes it easier to read the room temperature, current time, day of the week, selected mode and other information received from the system. The controller connects to the boiler through a two-core communication line and sends control commands over the same BUS. According to the manufacturer documentation, the nominal supply is 24 V, the maximum cable length is 50 metres and the recommended cable is 2 × 0.75 mm². The polarity of the two conductors must be observed during installation.
