Midea M2OE-18HFN8-Q is a Multi Split inverter outdoor unit designed to operate up to two compatible indoor air-conditioning units from a single outdoor system. It provides a practical solution for apartments, houses, offices and commercial spaces where two separate rooms require independent climate control while minimising the number of outdoor units installed on the building façade. The M2OE-18HFN8-Q appears in Midea's official Multi Split product documentation.
Nominal system capacity is approximately 5.3 kW for cooling and 5.6 kW for heating. Current official specifications for the corresponding 18 HFN8-Q Multi Split platform indicate a cooling capacity range from 2.05 to 6.86 kW and heating from 2.34 to 7.24 kW. Seasonal efficiency is rated at SEER 6.1 with an A++ cooling class, while average-climate heating achieves SCOP 4.0 and an A+ rating.
Two refrigerant circuits are provided for connection to two indoor units. Liquid piping uses 2 × Ø6.35 mm, while gas piping uses 2 × Ø9.52 mm connections. Maximum combined refrigerant-piping length is 40 metres, with a maximum individual run of 25 metres for each indoor unit. These installation limits provide useful flexibility when the indoor units are positioned in different rooms.
The outdoor unit operates from a 220–240 V, 50 Hz, single-phase electrical supply, making it suitable for typical residential electrical installations. The current HFN8-Q Multi Split specification uses R32 refrigerant. The inverter system continuously adapts compressor output to the thermal demand of the connected indoor units, supporting both cooling and heating operation.
One of the principal advantages of a Midea Multi Split system is the ability to condition two rooms with a single outdoor unit. This reduces the number of outdoor units required on the façade and provides greater installation flexibility.
