Pettinaroli valves

Pettinaroli valves are Italian-manufactured solutions for isolation, diversion and mixing in water supply, heating, manifold and HVAC systems. Different constructions support applications ranging from homes to commercial properties, including radiator circuits, boilers, plant rooms, underfloor heating and technical water services.

2-way ball valves

A 2-way ball valve is used to fully open or close the flow through a line. When correctly sized, a full-bore design helps reduce restriction and additional pressure loss. These valves can be used at manifold inlets and outlets, in boiler and radiator pipework, in plant rooms and in general water distribution systems.

The Pettinaroli 52/2 series is presented as a nickel-plated full-bore ball valve with male-to-male connections and a red butterfly handle. The manufacturer catalogue states PN42 for the series, although the applicable pressure rating should always be confirmed for the exact size and article number. The compact butterfly handle is useful where installation space is limited.

3-way mixing valves

A mechanical 3-way valve is selected to mix or divert flow according to the hydraulic design. The Pettinaroli 156 series is a 3-way mixing valve used in manifold and heating groups. In a correctly designed system, it can help regulate water temperature between a high-temperature primary circuit and a lower-temperature underfloor-heating circuit.

How to select the right valve

Selection should not be based on thread size alone. Valve type, connection format, required Kv or flow, working pressure, temperature, control method and function in the system must be assessed together. A 2-way model is generally used for isolation, while a 3-way model provides mixing or diversion according to its configuration.
