Union Fittings
A union fitting, commonly known as an "Amerikanka" fitting, is one of the most practical connection methods used in plumbing and heating systems. Its special construction allows equipment to be disconnected without dismantling the entire system. Unlike conventional threaded connections, which may require the pipe or complete line to be rotated, a union connection can be separated simply by loosening its union nut. This makes installation and servicing considerably easier.
Union fittings are widely used with ball valves, radiator connections, manifold systems, pump lines and boilers. They are particularly useful in heating systems where radiators, pumps, valves or other components may need to be replaced quickly. The connection creates a neat installation and helps reduce the time required for future maintenance and repair work.
Union valves and fittings are commonly manufactured from high-quality brass. A nickel-plated surface improves resistance to corrosion. PTFE and other polymer-based sealing components used inside the connection help provide reliable and durable operation. The working pressure and temperature limits must always be selected according to the specifications of the individual product.
One of the main advantages of a union connection is its modular structure. The system can be disconnected and reassembled whenever required. This makes union fittings suitable for domestic, commercial and industrial installations. They are widely used in radiator circuits, underfloor-heating systems, water-supply networks, boiler rooms and technical areas.
When a piping system requires convenient servicing, secure sealing and long-term reliability, union fittings provide a practical solution. They simplify installation, reduce working time and make future system maintenance considerably easier.
