Pettinaroli Non-Return Valves
Pettinaroli non-return valves
A Pettinaroli non-return valve, also known as a check valve, allows flow in the intended direction and prevents compatible liquids from travelling back through water, heating, boiler and pump systems. This function distinguishes it from a radiator lockshield valve, which is used to regulate and isolate the return side of a radiator.
Stopping reverse flow is important for stable operation and equipment protection. A correctly selected check valve can reduce drain-back after a pump stops, loss of line pressure and repeated filling of the pipework. Typical applications include water supply, boiler rooms, heating circuits, booster sets, pump discharge lines and technical services.
Construction and model selection
The Pettinaroli catalogue includes several brass non-return valve designs. The 188 Glory range includes solutions for horizontal and vertical installation, the 184GO is a swing check valve with a rubber disc, and the 184MO uses a metal disc. Other ranges may provide spring-operated or special-connection solutions for different systems.
Size selection is based on the nominal pipe diameter, required flow and acceptable pressure loss. Depending on the series, options may include 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2 and 2 inches. Not every size is available in every model, so the technical table for the exact article number must be checked.
Installation requirements
The flow arrow on the valve body must match the direction of liquid movement. Whether a valve can be mounted horizontally or vertically depends on its internal mechanism; a model must not be installed in an arbitrary orientation. Working medium, temperature, pressure, mounting position and service access should all be assessed before selection.
Pettinaroli non-return valves are Italian-manufactured backflow-control solutions for a wide range of projects. Euroclima can help select the correct size and construction for water, heating and pump lines.
