Dab KPA

DAB KPA is a self-priming peripheral electric pump designed to provide dependable suction even under difficult operating conditions. Its hydraulic system combines a side liquid channel with a star-shaped impeller, allowing the pump to maintain effective suction when air bubbles are present or when the flow of liquid at the suction side is not completely continuous. DAB specifies the KPA for domestic, civil, agricultural and industrial installations.

The operating range extends from 8 to 45 litres per minute, while maximum head reaches 53 metres. Maximum operating pressure is 10 bar / 1000 kPa. The pump is intended for clean liquids without solid or abrasive particles and for fluids that are non-viscous, non-crystallised and chemically neutral, with properties comparable to water.

The pump body is manufactured from cast iron and incorporates a brass wear disc. Both the motor support and the star-shaped impeller are manufactured completely from brass to help minimise blockage risk. The rotor shaft uses AISI 303 stainless steel, while a carbon/ceramic mechanical seal provides hydraulic sealing.

KPA uses a closed asynchronous motor with external ventilation cooling. Permanently lubricated oversized ball bearings are designed to support quiet operation and durability. Single-phase models incorporate built-in thermal and current overload protection together with a permanently connected capacitor. Motor protection is IP44, terminal-board protection is IP55, and insulation class is F.

The KPA 40/20 has a rated motor output of 0.75 kW / 1 HP. The M version is intended for single-phase 220–240 V operation, while the T version is available for three-phase 230–400 V / 50 Hz installations. Suction and discharge connections are 1-inch GAS, and the pump is designed for fixed horizontal installation.

Permitted liquid temperature ranges from 0°C to +35°C for domestic applications and from -10°C to +80°C for other approved uses. Maximum ambient temperature is +40°C.
