DAB KV 3-6-10 is a range of vertical multistage centrifugal electric pumps designed for small and medium-sized water systems requiring high head and dependable water circulation. DAB specifies applications including pressure boosting, boiler feed, hot-water circulation, condensate and cooling-water transfer, fire-fighting and washing systems, drinking-water supply, filling pressure vessels, sprinkler installations and irrigation systems.
The operating range extends from 1.8 to 13.5 m³/h, with head up to 139 metres. Maximum operating pressure is 18 bar / 1800 kPa, making the KV range suitable for installations where relatively high pressure is required. Pumps are designed for fixed installation in a vertical position.
The multistage hydraulic design uses several impellers and diffusers to progressively increase water pressure. In the standard version, the impellers and diffusers are manufactured from technopolymer, the pump shaft from AISI 416 stainless steel, and the external liner from AISI 304 stainless steel. The suction and delivery bodies are cast iron, while sealing is provided by a carbon/ceramic mechanical seal. A special KV-S configuration with AISI 304 stainless-steel impellers and diffusers is also specified by DAB.
The pump is intended for clean, non-viscous, non-aggressive and chemically neutral liquids free from solids and abrasive contaminants. Liquid temperature ranges from 0°C to +35°C for domestic applications and from -15°C to +110°C for other suitable applications. Maximum ambient temperature is +40°C.
The closed asynchronous motor is externally ventilated and equipped with permanently lubricated oversized ball bearings. Protection class is IP55 and insulation class is F. Standard supply is 220–240 V / 50 Hz for single-phase versions and 230–400 V / 50 Hz for three-phase versions. The range includes KV 3, KV 6 and KV 10 hydraulic families with different numbers of stages to meet different head requirements.
