DAB Smart Press is an electronic ON/OFF controller designed to start and stop an electric pump automatically without requiring an expansion vessel. It can be used in domestic water-supply, pressure-boosting, garden-irrigation, well-water and tank-water transfer systems.
Smart Press starts the pump automatically when the system pressure drops below the preset cut-in pressure. When water demand ends and the device no longer detects an appreciable outlet flow, it stops the pump after a delay of approximately five seconds.
The device protects the pump against dry running without requiring level probes or float switches. When water is unavailable at the suction point, Smart Press stops the pump and helps prevent damage to its motor and hydraulic components.
Smart Press WG – Water Guardian models automatically attempt to restart the pump approximately every 30 minutes following a dry-running lockout. A RESET button is also provided for manual restarting.
The specially designed built-in flow sensor helps minimise pressure losses even at high flow rates. Green, yellow and red LED indicators show the power-supply status, pump operation and dry-running lockout.
