Prandelli Tuborama is a cross-linked polyethylene piping system designed for hot and cold water supply, radiator heating, underfloor heating and other building-services applications. The pipe is manufactured from silane cross-linked PE-Xb, providing resistance to temperature, pressure and mechanical stress.
Tuborama was introduced by Prandelli in 1977 as the company’s first plastic piping system. Its flexibility and low weight simplify long pipe runs, pipe-in-pipe installations and the formation of underfloor-heating circuits.
The cross-linking process creates additional bonds between polyethylene molecules, improving dimensional stability under heat and pressure. Tuborama PE-Xb pipe has a cross-linking degree above 65% and is manufactured in accordance with UNI EN ISO 15875.
A smooth internal surface with approximately 0.007 mm roughness helps reduce pressure losses and internal deposits. The PE-Xb material is resistant to corrosion and many chemical influences, avoiding the rust problems associated with traditional metallic pipework.
In addition to standard pipe without an oxygen barrier, the range includes red Tuborama PE-Xb O2STOP PN10 pipe for closed heating systems. Its oxygen barrier limits diffusion through the pipe wall, helping reduce corrosion of boilers, radiators, pumps, manifolds and other metallic components.
Tuborama pipe is connected using Prandelli mechanical screw compression fittings. This system simplifies installation without requiring press tools, welding or soldering equipment.
